About Ben
Advice from someone who has been in your shoes.
I’m Ben. I run That Card Machine Guy from Ely, Cambridgeshire, helping businesses understand their card payments and choose equipment that works in the real world.
I’m a Dojo partner. I supply and support Dojo equipment, and I’ll give you my honest judgement about whether it is a sensible fit — including when your current deal is already good enough to keep.

I’ve been in your shoes.
Before becoming That Card Machine Guy, I spent over 18 years running my own successful retail business, where I accepted card payments every day. Like many business owners, I was focused on serving customers — not constantly reviewing merchant statements or negotiating payment rates.
I used several different card machine providers and experienced first-hand what many businesses still face: being told you are getting the best rates, then finding hidden charges, extra monthly fees and costs that were never explained.
I also know what it is like to be bombarded with cold calls from companies promising to save money. It becomes frustrating, time-consuming and easy to ignore them all.
That is why I keep the process simple. I review the detail, ask the useful questions and explain what I find in plain English.
If I can save you money or improve your payment setup, I’ll show you how. If you are already on a good deal, I’ll tell you that too. I’m not a neutral broker with access to every provider; I’m a Dojo partner who supplies and supports Dojo equipment. You still deserve independent judgement and a straight answer about whether switching is worth it.
I review merchant statements for businesses across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and the wider UK. Sometimes I find substantial savings. Sometimes I don’t. The useful part is knowing which one applies to you.

No hard sell
If your current setup is fine, you’ll hear that too. Switching has to be worth the effort.
